Episode 10: Identity
The quickest path to hell is trying to figure out who we are. With a less active executive function, the Driven brain turns to emotion when forming a personal identity. Ironically, the Driven will also always feel discontent, which leaves us perpetually dissatisfied and ashamed of 'who we are.' Moving away from emotional identity and understanding that we are biologically wired for change, for novelty, we can accept that we are not our thoughts or our feelings. WHAT we are is what we are doing in the present. This frees us from emotional identity, and from the judgement that comes with it.
